Iran Stops Harassing US Navy Vessels Because Of Trump

In the waters of the Persian Gulf, U.S. Navy vessels have been constantly harassed for years, but it looks like there is a new cop out on the lake that has been ending that. For years, armed Iranian boats called “fast boats” would play a game of chicken basically with U.S. ships. They would head at the ship at a dangerous speed, then at the last second, turn away, a practice which the U.S. navy deemed is “unsafe or unprofessional.” This would happen at least twice a month, it was a way to test Washington, or disrespect the U.S. military. This last summer however, the game stopped. Officially, the Navy doesn’t know why. US Central Command chief Gen. Joseph Votel says, “I hope it’s because we have messaged our readiness . . . and that it isn’t tolerable or how professional militaries operate.” Now that president Obama is out of office, and the much more trigger ready Trump sits in that seat, Tehran is much more carful about engaging the U.S. in any way.
