NFL Throws Veterans Group’s Super Bowl Ad Back At Their Face, It Has One Word They Don’t Like [LOOK]

The NFL has rejected an ad for the Super Bowl from American Veterans that would urge people to stand for the national anthem.
The NFL originally invited The nation’s largest veterans service organization to do a Super Bowl ad. AMVET’s advertisement included a two-word message – “#PleaseStand.”

“It’s a simple, polite request that represents the sentiment of our membership, particularly those whose missing or paralyzed limbs preclude standing,” wrote National Commander Marion Polk in a letter to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell.

The NFL rejected the advertisement for no apparent reason, and now the American Veterans are accusing the NFL of outright censorship.

NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy defended the decision made by the NFL to not allow the ad, saying the game “is designed for fans to commemorate and celebrate the game, players, teams and the Super Bowl.”
“It’s never been a place for advertising that could be considered by some as a political statement,” McCarthy told Army Times.

The NFL has been rife with national anthem protests all year long, although it did slow down towards the end of the year as it was clear people were losing interest.

Apparently the NFL was concerned that it was too much of a ‘political statement’ to politely ask people to stand to commemorate the national anthem and our armed services.
The game of football started as a military game, and evolved into what we have now, and the disrespect the NFL has shown the military and our veterans is a shame. It certainly has contributed to the poor NFL rating this year. College football seems to be doing just fine ratings wise, I’m not so sure why the NFL is struggling.

In Polk’s letter to Goodell he says the  players are exercising the rights to protest that the military gave them, which is true, so why would you use that right to desecrate something they hold dear?
