Former Sheriff Clarke Faces Huge Consequences For Calling Someone “Snowflake”
A former Milwaukee County Sheriff and prominent President Trump supporter David Clarke Jr. will face trial for making fun of another man on Facebook.
Jan. 22 is the date of Clarke’s trial, which is centered around the fact that he called Daniel Black, the defendant, a “snowflake” on Facebook.
Black is alleging that Clarke abused his authority in order to harass him after an encounter on an airplane on Jan. 15, 2017.
No criminal charges were filed in the incident, but Black filed a civil rights lawsuit against Clarke.
A judge on Friday dismissed many of the charges, but said a jury should decide whether Clarke’s Facebook posts were threats or retaliation against Black.
“Cheer up, snowflake … if Sheriff Clarke were to really harass you, you wouldn’t be around to whine about it,” one post from Clarke said.
Black is alleging that Clarke had several police officers pulled him aside when their plane landed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, questioned him after Black and Clarke got into a confrontation on the plane, in which Clarke felt disrespected by Black.
“While Clarke’s actions reflect poor judgment, they do not shock the conscience,” U.S. District Judge J.P. Stadtmueller said.
This man, Daniel Black, disrespected an off duty police officer on a plane, and when he was then called a ‘snowflake’ he freaked out to the point where he had to basically sue this police officer for abusing his power? Isn’t that exactly how a snowflake would react?
There are some people in this world that can’t handle their own problems, and this is a great example. Clarke said he felt disrespected by the event that occurred on the plane, I’m sure he didn’t make something up, Black probably did something to offend Clarke, and when Clarke responded by calling the man a ‘snowflake,’ Black felt that was enough to have the man brought up on charges.
