Democrat Women Expose Their Absurdly Weak Plan To Protest Sexual Assault At Trump’s State Of The Union Address




Rep. Jackie Speier (D., Calif.) and a group of female Democratic lawmakers have stated that they plan on wearing all black to President Trump’s first State of the Union address. They planned this in order to show support to women suffering from sexual abuse or harassment.
My colleagues and I in the @HouseDemWomen are calling on our fellow MoCs – women & men, Democrats & Republicans – to wear black to this year’s #SOTU in solidarity w/survivors of sexual harassment/violence in Hollywood, politics, the military, academia, etc. #TIMESUP #MeToo,” Speier tweeted on Wednesday.

The call to wear all black mirrors a similar call to wear all black to the Golden Globes last weekend. This comes in response to growing national concern for sexual harassment issues that in the past have been swept under the rug.

Speier, who launched #MeTooCongress in response to a social media movement against sexual harassment, told HuffPost on Tuesday that the movement is a “culture change that is sweeping the country, and Congress is embracing it.”

A number of females in the government have come forward with stories of abuse, which have ousted a number of male government figures, such as Al Franken.

It’s becoming trendy to appear sympathetic to these causes now apparently. Even in Hollywood, where 90% of them were aware of what Weinstein was doing, they all pretend like they are supporting the cause out of the good of their hearts. These women are hardly different, it’s an attention grab with the appearance of being sympathetic. It’s saying ‘look at me, I support women being abused’ instead of actually helping women who are being abused, it’s the same concept of the live strong bracelets Lance Armstrong pushed, except if you bought those, it actually put money forward for cancer research. No amount of wearing black will restore some of these women’s careers.
