Democrat Terry McAuliffe Claims He Would Punch Trump So Hard “You Would Have To Pick Him Up Off The Floor”

In an interview on MSNBC, Terry McAuliffe, a Democrat from Virginia, claimed that if Trump behaved the same way he did in debates with him as he did with Hillary Clinton, than he would have to “knock him off the floor.”
McAuliffe and the host started on the topic of the Hillary Clinton and Trump debates, and how they thought Trump was lording over Hillary and invading her personal space, which is a ridiculous claim. McAuliffe then said that had he been debating Trump, he would have gotten violent with him on stage in an attempt to get him to move.
I get it that McAuliffe thinks this is a joke, but it’s not very funny, and it stems from a false perception. The idea that Trump was looming over Hillary Clinton, and so close to her that it was invading her personal space is absurd, if you watch the clip you will see, they are not close to each other.
Besides that, if you were debating somebody and you thought they were too close to you, wouldn’t you just move? Wouldn’t you say something if you felt that uncomfortable? There are a few options to deal with somebody who you believe is lording behind you while you are addressing a crowd of people, but one thing that wouldn’t cross my mind, is to physically remove this person from behind me because I perceive them to be that much of a physical threat.
What McAuliffe is suggesting literally sounds ridiculous, but he actually wants to give off the impression of being a tough guy who would do it. What a weird way to deal with somebody else on the debate floor when you could settle an issue with, I don’t know, debating?
